Pyxidately branched fruiting-bodies, ending in a small crown of pointed branches. Flesh soft, easily crushed. Always on wood. Often reported as
Clavicorona
in the New Zealand literature.
Five species have been reported from New Zealand, although only
A. turgidis
is common.
