Crucibulum		Crucibulum laeve the only species recognised in this genus worldwide, is a bird’s nest fungus with a short cylindrical nest felted on the outside and smooth and shining white internally. The white eggs (peridioles) are attached by a fine elastic cord to the nest base.
Cyathus		Cyathus includes bird’s nest fungi resembling Crucibulum, in that the eggs are attached by a fine elastic cord to the nest base, but differing in the conical often flaring shape of the nest. Six species are reported from New Zealand.
Nidula		Bird’s nest fungi in which the eggs (peridioles) are loose in the nest, rather than being attached to the nest base as in Crucibulum and Cyathus. Three species are reported from New Zealand.
