Sometimes mistaken for perennial Phellinus and Fomes, the single species of Australoporus has a pore surface that is pale pink to orange, whereas it is brown in Phellinus, and white in Fomes.

Australoporus tasmanicus

Relatively common on fallen logs of native trees. May form a narrow bracket but more usually forms a crust on oblique surfaces and in crevices in trees, with pore surface light pink to pale orange. Annual to perennial and then with layers of tubes.
