The Field Guide was initially prepared in 2003 and much of the content has not been updated. Since 2003 our understanding of fungi in New Zealand has changed dramatically. Many names have changed and incorrect identifications have been fixed, but that is not reflected here. Currently there is no modern equivalent of these pages.

Users should always check the current status of names using the Biota of New Zealand website.
